1 Billion Buildings Mapped
Those who have counted with us last months might have guessed it — we’ve surpassed the 1 billion mark! Our latest addition, buildings from Africa, has bumped our data count to over one billion buildings.
Credit for this amazing milestone goes to everyone who was involved in this huge effort! Large datasets like US (125M), JP (60M) UK (20M), NL (10M), DE (20M), and AU (10M) helped a lot to reach this incredible number. But let’s not forget that countless small countries are also part of this great achievement.
While the 1-billion target has been achieved — even greatly surpassed — every building has to be filtered, fixed, and matched against existing objects. So what you see is just the tip of the iceberg. We’re still drilling through it every single month to bring you the most accurate and comprehensive worldwide building data. A daunting task but a challenge we are more than ready to face.
So far, we are not aware of a more extensive database than ours. This further spurs our drive to continuously add building data. More than becoming the undisputed leader in the geospatial industry, we aim to empower architects, engineers, and other professionals with reliable building data.
